Last week at the grocery store berries were on sale buy one get one free. Now I enjoy blue berries but in all honesty I prefer strawberries, so that’s exactly what I got. In my opinion the best thing to do with nice fresh strawberries (aside from jam) is to make them into a pie, and not having had a strawberry pie yet this summer I figured I’d give it a shot. Well unfortunately by the time I got around to it the berries were all bad 🙁 I thought they were salvagable but no, the fuzzies growing on them said otherwise. Ahh well. However, another fruit was next up on the soon to go bad list: Bananas.
What to do with overripe bananas? Banana bread of course! Well that would take care of some of the bananas, but what about the rest. Banana cream pie! Yes sounds good. So today before they get any more ripe the banana fest of baking has begun! I’ve taken pics throughout my process and will update this blog with the step by step. Lets see how they turn out! As usual, I didn’t quite have all the ingredients ^^; ooops…really need to get that baking powder… So will the bread turn out to be edible? Will the pie be a sloppy mess? Stop back in a while and find out!
