It’s November and you know what that means! Well if you are a I&I duty wife you know what that means: Toys for Tots Season! Toys for Tots is a charity organization run by the USMC & USMC Reserves that helps make Christmas a little more special for children in need. They collect new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations which is then given to disadvantaged children at Christmas time to spread a message of hope that will hopefully inspire them in their own lives. To help achieve this goal I&I Marines (Inspector & Instructor) and Reserve Marines along with an army of volunteers attend events, collect toys and monetary donations, and sort and distribute toys.
For the next two months Marines will be out and about collecting toys and raising awareness. One of those is my husband. So to help spread the word and help ensure a merry Christmas for more kids I will be posting about many of the Toys for Tots events his unit will be participating in. No matter where you are your local Marines will also be doing much the same thing, so keep an eye out for them in your community and consider donating a toy or some spare change to Toys for Tots and make a child’s day a little brighter!
